Tulsa Website Design | Blue in Website Design

by | Jan 11, 2021 | Website Design | SEO

Tulsa based website design companies often use the color blue in their technology companies. Why is this?  Today in this post we are going to break down what the color blue does to our brains as a consumer.  It is important to understand what colors do and how they affect potential customers.  If you see bright blue, how is that different from dark navy?  If at any time in this post you don’t understand something, don’t hesitate to call us for more information at 918-218-2228 or email us at info@centupli.com.  This is just one post in a whole series of articles on this topic.

Blue the color of trust

Think about companies like Paypal and Twitter.  Many financial companies or technology companies use the color Blue to represent trustworthiness. There’s something about the color blue that is comforting. It makes you feel at home. Companies use that feeling of homeliness and trust to create an environment where you will purchase the product. Or in the case of Twitter speak your mind. This trustworthiness extends into every aspect of the business. You’ll notice that most businesses that use blue are either technology companies or companies that handle your data. It’s important that we as consumers trust these companies to handle our data properly. That’s why they use blue as a calming effect. It makes sense when we see the word read that we think anger and fire and hatred. The same thing goes for blue when we see that we think calm and peace and tranquil.

Blue for loyalty and peace

as we were just discussing a little bit in the above paragraph, blue is for loyalty and peace. What does your company want to convey? If it’s us feeling peace and loyalty, maybe especially if your consumers don’t generally feel that way. Think about how you can utilize colors to make your consumers feel a specific way. It’s not manipulation, it’s simple psychology. If you wanted people to calm down you would use red or orange to make them call. Instead use blue or green. With that being said analyze what your company wants to do.

Blue for competency

Again this goes right along with everything with Artie said in this post.  What businesses need to trust you? Think about PayPal. They are perfect examples of someone who did this. PayPal wants you to feel safe when they process your credit card. They want you to feel like they’re loyal to you and that you can have a calm peaceful mind about it because they can handle whatever problems might arise. They want you to feel like your financial information is safe with them. That’s kind of the whole point of their business. If you didn’t feel like your credit card information was safer with PayPal, then you just use whoever you are purchasing from. The point is that in the moment of uncertainty and disease you choose PayPal over against  whatever company you are purchasing a product from.

Tulsa website design your choice

So the question I present to you today is this, “what colors do you use?” What colors does your business need to succeed? Maybe you need blue. Use blue if your company needs to calm your customers, put them at ease, or show them that you’re loyal to them. If you’re in an industry where people are generally unsure of your competency or ethics, maybe you’re in the banking industry or used car salesman. Use blue to convey peaceful and trustworthy feelings. Think about carvona. Basically they are used car salesmen, but they don’t act like it. They use the color blue to represent trustworthiness and people feel more at home using them to rent or purchase a car.
